We at Communities In Schools (CIS) of Durham are interested in partnering with your church or faith community to help Durham’s youth succeed in school and prepare for adult life. We recognize that faith communities have a number of unique strengths to offer youth and we would like to help you offer these gifts to the community.

CIS of Durham helps kids succeed in school, stay in school and prepare for life. Much of our work is done by developing partnerships with community organizations to provide a holistic support system around youth and their families. I would like to meet with you to discuss ways we can support one another’s work. I can imagine several options. CIS can help you:

Start a tutoring, mentoring or after-school program;

Improve the quality of your program from good to great by offering you our knowledge of the most effective components of excellent programming for youth;

Link your members to one of our initiatives such as our high quality mentoring program;

Help you adopt a school and work with the school to use your group’s talents.
